Office for Mac 2011 This October

Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 will be available in more than 100 countries around the world at the end of October. The suite will come in two editions – Office for Mac Home and Student 2011 and Office for Mac Home and Business 2011. For better alignment across platforms, the Office 2011 pricing and edition options map closer with Office for the Windows operating system. In addition, starting today, if customers purchase Office 2008 for Mac, they will be able to upgrade to Office 2011 when it is available at no additional cost through the Microsoft Office for Mac Technology Guarantee Program.

Quantum has just upgraded DXi OS to version 1.4

Features:

  • Major Performance Enhancements – Quantum DXi OS 1.4 now makes Quantum DXi6500 40% faster than the equivalent EMC/DD 600 series. This release includes new Symantec OST performance enhancements.
  • Better Sizing results. Improved dedupe ratios now mean that Quantum DXi6500 is 30% better value than the equivalent EMC/DD 600 series. Quantum DXi6500 is even better value when replication and OST options are included.
  • Improved replication options – Quantum DXi has three separate replication modes. File by file, Hidden and Application Aware. Quantum Replication can be encrypted.
  • Quantum DXi Advanced Reporting – iLayer for Quantum DXi now comes with Advanced Reporting.
  • Quantum DXi now has superior Symantec OST compatibility which provides support for NetBackup 6.5.3 and above, BackupExec 2010 and Direct Tape Creation.
