Extensis has released Suitcase Fusion 2 Update (v 13.2) which adds support for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. The update is only for Suitcase Fusion 2 (v13.0.x – v13.1.x) users and also includes:

• Adobe InDesign and Illustrator CS2 plug-ins
• Support for TrueType Collection (.ttc) fonts, including updated Snow Leopard system fonts
• Import and export of font sets
• Additional improvements and fixed issues.

Centrify DirectControl® for Mac OS X now supports the new capabilities of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, including 32-bit and 64-bit support. All of Centrify’s extended desktop lockdown security and configuration controls available for previous Mac OS X systems are now available for Snow Leopard. These include smart card login and hundreds of Group Policies to help IT administrators manage Macs using the same familiar tools and processes currently used to manage their Windows systems.

Centrify has added the necessary Group Policy to support File Vault for Active Directory users so that users with Network-based home directories will have the option to create a Portable Home Directory within a File Vault. By using DirectControl for Mac OS X, organizations can ensure that Macs adhere to the same best practices established for their Windows systems.

Following in the footsteps of the recently released iPhone OS 3.1 and Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Apple has posted a support document outlining a number of improvements to its MobileMe service.

iPhone OS 3.1 now includes the ability to remotely set a passcode lock for an iPhone/iPod touch. Improvements available with Snow Leopard include improved Sync services, the ability to connect to a sleeping Mac and MobileMe Gallery improvements.

The MobileMe Control Panel for Windows has also been updated to support the soon to be released Microsoft Windows 7.

In what may be an industry-first, the new Sonnet Qio supports major HD video memory card formats—Sony SxS, Panasonic P2, CompactFlash®, and SDHC—with two slots for each (SDHC shared with SxS) and the ability to transfer data from all cards concurrently.

For quick migration of data, the Qio contains an eSATA controller based on Sonnet’s acclaimed Tempo™ SATA E4P SATA host controller card, which through its four eSATA ports enables users to connect two Sonnet Fusion™ F2 portable rugged RAID storage units, four Sonnet Fusion DQR5 4-drive RAID 5 systems, or any other drive system with an eSATA interface. Users can copy files between any cards, attached drives or host computer with aggregate bandwidth up to 250MB/sec.
